111 Pounds to Kg — What's Your BMI?
111 pounds converts to 50.3 kilograms. However, your BMI depends entirely on your height — the same weight gives very different BMI values for different people. Whether 111 lbs is a healthy weight for you depends on how tall you are. Below, we show you what BMI this weight produces at six common heights, along with the NHS health category each falls into. Use our free BMI calculator above to find your exact BMI based on your personal height and weight.

What Is BMI and Why Does It Matter?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is the most widely used screening tool for assessing whether your weight falls within a healthy range. Used by the NHS, GPs, and weight management services across the UK, BMI provides a quick snapshot of your weight relative to your height. The formula is simple: your weight in kilograms divided by your height in metres squared (kg/m²).
While BMI isn't a perfect measure — it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution — it remains the standard first step in identifying potential weight-related health risks including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and certain cancers.
The NHS also recommends adjusted thresholds for people of South Asian, Chinese, or Black African heritage — a BMI of 23 or above is classified as overweight, and 27.5 as obese. Our calculator includes this adjustment as a one-click toggle.
111 Pounds — BMI at Different Heights
At 111 lbs (50.3 kg), your BMI varies significantly depending on height. Here's what NHS categories you'd fall into:
- 5ft 0in (152cm): BMI 21.9 — healthy weight
- 5ft 4in (163cm): BMI 18.7 — healthy weight
- 5ft 8in (173cm): BMI 16.4 — underweight
- 5ft 10in (178cm): BMI 15.7 — underweight
- 6ft 0in (183cm): BMI 14.8 — underweight
- 6ft 2in (188cm): BMI 14.1 — underweight
These examples show why height matters so much when assessing weight. Someone 5ft 4in at 111 lbs is in the healthy range, whilst someone 6ft tall at the same weight would be considered underweight. To convert 111 pounds to stone, you'd get 7 stone 13 lbs — a common UK measurement. Try our weight converter above to switch between kg, stone, and imperial measurements instantly.

Understanding BMI Categories and Limitations
The NHS defines healthy weight as a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9. Underweight is below 18.5, overweight is 25–29.9, and obese is 30 and above. However, BMI has important limitations — it doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat, so athletes or very muscular individuals may have a high BMI despite low body fat. Additionally, waist circumference matters: men should aim for under 94cm (37 inches) and women under 80cm (31.5 inches). For adults of South Asian, Chinese, Black African, or Black Caribbean heritage, the NHS recommends lower thresholds because these groups face higher health risks at the same BMI. Always discuss your personal weight and health with your GP, who can assess your individual situation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about BMI, weight loss medications, and our free UK tools.
What is 111 pounds in kilograms?
111 pounds equals 50.3 kilograms exactly. To convert pounds to kg, divide by 2.20462. This metric to imperial weight conversion is useful when reading NHS health guidance, which typically uses kilograms for clinical measurements whilst many UK adults prefer stone and pounds.
Is 111 pounds a healthy weight?
Whether 111 lbs is healthy depends entirely on your height. At 5ft 4in it's healthy (BMI 18.7), but at 6ft it's underweight (BMI 14.8). Use our free BMI calculator to find your exact category based on your personal measurements and NHS guidelines.
What does 111 pounds convert to in stone?
111 pounds equals 7 stone and 13 pounds (7st 13lbs). In the UK, stone and pounds is the traditional weight measurement. Our weight converter on this page lets you convert instantly between kg, stone, and lbs in both directions.
Why does BMI depend on height?
BMI measures weight relative to height squared. Two people weighing 111 lbs but with different heights will have very different BMIs because the same weight is distributed differently across a taller or shorter frame. This is why height is essential for BMI assessment.
Should I be concerned if my BMI is outside the healthy range?
Not necessarily — BMI is a screening tool only. It doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, age, or ethnicity. The NHS recommends using BMI alongside waist circumference and discussing your health with your GP, who can assess your individual circumstances and advise whether weight change would benefit your health.
