What's 152 Pounds in Kg and What's Your BMI?

152 pounds is equivalent to approximately 68.9 kilograms. However, your BMI — which the NHS uses to assess healthy weight — depends on your height as well as your weight. At the same weight of 152 pounds, a person who is 5ft 4in (163cm) will have a different BMI from someone who is 6ft tall (183cm). This guide shows you what BMI 152 pounds gives at different heights, and which NHS category each falls into. You can use our free BMI calculator above to find your exact BMI instantly, or read on to see common examples.

What Is BMI and Why Does It Matter?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is the most widely used screening tool for assessing whether your weight falls within a healthy range. Used by the NHS, GPs, and weight management services across the UK, BMI provides a quick snapshot of your weight relative to your height. The formula is simple: your weight in kilograms divided by your height in metres squared (kg/m²).

While BMI isn't a perfect measure — it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution — it remains the standard first step in identifying potential weight-related health risks including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and certain cancers.

Below 18.5Underweight
18.5 – 24.9Healthy
25 – 29.9Overweight
30+Obese

The NHS also recommends adjusted thresholds for people of South Asian, Chinese, or Black African heritage — a BMI of 23 or above is classified as overweight, and 27.5 as obese. Our calculator includes this adjustment as a one-click toggle.

152 Pounds (68.9kg) — BMI at Different Heights

At a weight of 152 pounds (68.9kg), your BMI depends entirely on your height. Here are examples of what your BMI would be at different heights, and the corresponding NHS weight category:

  • 5ft 2in (157cm): BMI 25.6 — Overweight
  • 5ft 4in (163cm): BMI 24.4 — Healthy weight
  • 5ft 6in (168cm): BMI 23.3 — Healthy weight
  • 5ft 8in (173cm): BMI 22.3 — Healthy weight
  • 5ft 10in (178cm): BMI 21.5 — Healthy weight
  • 6ft 0in (183cm): BMI 20.7 — Healthy weight

At 152 pounds, most adults fall into the healthy weight range according to NHS guidelines. However, if you're shorter than 5ft 2in, your BMI at this weight may be in the overweight category. To convert 152 pounds to stone, divide by 14: this gives you 10st 12lbs approximately. For a precise metric to imperial weight conversion, you can use our weight converter tool on this page.

NHS BMI Categories and Important Limitations

The NHS uses these official BMI categories for adults: Healthy weight (BMI 18.5–24.9), Overweight (BMI 25.0–29.9), Obese Class I (BMI 30.0–34.9), and Obese Class II (35.0+). However, BMI has important limitations. It does not distinguish between muscle and fat — athletes may have a high BMI but low body fat. BMI also doesn't account for where fat is stored, and waist circumference is equally important. For South Asian, Chinese, Black African, or Black Caribbean adults, the NHS recommends lower BMI thresholds due to higher health risks at the same BMI. If you're concerned about your weight, your GP can provide personalised guidance based on your individual health profile, not just your BMI number.
