What is 93kg in Stone and Pounds?
93 kilograms is equivalent to 14 stone and 9 pounds (or 14st 9lbs). To convert kilograms to stone, divide your weight by 6.35, which gives you 14.65 stone — approximately 14 stone plus 9 pounds. Your BMI at this weight depends entirely on your height. Using the free BMI calculator on this page, you can instantly see where you fall on the NHS weight categories and get personalised health context for your specific measurements.

What Is BMI and Why Does It Matter?
Body Mass Index (BMI) is the most widely used screening tool for assessing whether your weight falls within a healthy range. Used by the NHS, GPs, and weight management services across the UK, BMI provides a quick snapshot of your weight relative to your height. The formula is simple: your weight in kilograms divided by your height in metres squared (kg/m²).
While BMI isn't a perfect measure — it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution — it remains the standard first step in identifying potential weight-related health risks including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and certain cancers.
The NHS also recommends adjusted thresholds for people of South Asian, Chinese, or Black African heritage — a BMI of 23 or above is classified as overweight, and 27.5 as obese. Our calculator includes this adjustment as a one-click toggle.
BMI at 93kg — Height Examples
Your BMI depends on your height combined with your weight. At 93kg, here's what your BMI would be at common UK heights:
- 1.60m (5ft 3in): BMI 36.3 — Obese (Class II)
- 1.65m (5ft 5in): BMI 34.2 — Obese (Class I)
- 1.70m (5ft 7in): BMI 32.2 — Obese (Class I)
- 1.75m (5ft 9in): BMI 30.4 — Obese (Class I)
- 1.80m (5ft 11in): BMI 28.6 — Overweight
- 1.85m (6ft 1in): BMI 27.2 — Overweight
These are NHS categories based on clinical evidence. Use our free weight converter above to check your weight in different units, or use our BMI calculator to find your exact BMI for your height right now.

NHS BMI Categories and What They Mean
The NHS classifies BMI ranges to help identify health risk. A BMI under 25 is healthy weight, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30 and above is obese. However, BMI has limitations — it doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat, so athletes may have a high BMI despite low body fat. Your waist circumference also matters: for men over 94cm (37 inches) indicates increased risk, over 102cm (40 inches) indicates high risk. Women over 80cm (31.5 inches) face increased risk, over 88cm (34.5 inches) high risk. If you're concerned about your weight and health, speak to your GP who can assess your individual circumstances and discuss support options.

All data stays on your device. We don't require sign-ups, and we don't store your health information on any server. Your progress tracker saves data locally in your browser using localStorage, so only you can see it.
We're based in the UK and our tools are designed specifically for UK users — supporting stone & lbs by default, referencing NHS guidelines, using NICE-approved medication data, and linking to GPhC-registered pharmacies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about BMI, weight loss medications, and our free UK tools.
How do I convert 93kg to stone?
Divide 93 by 6.35029 to get 14.65 stone. This equals 14 stone and 9 pounds. You can also use our free weight converter on this page to convert instantly between kg, stone, and pounds.
Is 93kg overweight or obese?
It depends on your height. At shorter heights (under 1.70m), 93kg typically falls in the obese category. At taller heights (over 1.80m), it may be overweight. Use our free BMI calculator above to find your exact BMI and NHS category for your height.
What's the healthy weight for my height?
Healthy weight (BMI 18.5–24.9) varies by height. At 1.70m, it's roughly 53–71kg. At 1.80m, it's 60–80kg. Your GP can advise what's healthy for you individually, considering your age, muscle mass, and medical history.
Can I use BMI alone to assess my health?
No, BMI is a screening tool only. It doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution. Waist circumference is also important. Your GP can provide a fuller health picture than BMI alone.
How can I lose weight safely?
The NHS recommends losing 0.5–1kg per week through a calorie deficit, increased physical activity, and sustainable dietary changes. Your GP can discuss options including weight management support, lifestyle programmes, or specialist services if needed.
