What's 94kg in Stone and What's Your BMI?

At 94 kilograms, your weight converts to 14 stone and 12.5 pounds using standard UK measurements. However, whether this is a healthy weight depends entirely on your height — the same weight gives very different BMI values for different people. BMI is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in metres squared. To see where you stand according to NHS guidelines, you'll need to know your height. Use our free BMI calculator above to find your personal BMI instantly, or read on for example BMI values at common heights.

What Is BMI and Why Does It Matter?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is the most widely used screening tool for assessing whether your weight falls within a healthy range. Used by the NHS, GPs, and weight management services across the UK, BMI provides a quick snapshot of your weight relative to your height. The formula is simple: your weight in kilograms divided by your height in metres squared (kg/m²).

While BMI isn't a perfect measure — it doesn't account for muscle mass, bone density, or fat distribution — it remains the standard first step in identifying potential weight-related health risks including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, and certain cancers.

Below 18.5Underweight
18.5 – 24.9Healthy
25 – 29.9Overweight
30+Obese

The NHS also recommends adjusted thresholds for people of South Asian, Chinese, or Black African heritage — a BMI of 23 or above is classified as overweight, and 27.5 as obese. Our calculator includes this adjustment as a one-click toggle.

94kg BMI at Different Heights

At 94kg, your BMI depends on how tall you are. Here are example BMI values at common UK heights:

  • 160cm (5ft 3in): BMI 36.7 — falls in the severely obese (Class III) category according to NHS guidelines
  • 170cm (5ft 7in): BMI 32.2 — obese (Class II) category
  • 175cm (5ft 9in): BMI 30.6 — obese (Class I) category
  • 180cm (5ft 11in): BMI 29.0 — overweight category
  • 185cm (6ft 1in): BMI 27.5 — overweight category
  • 190cm (6ft 3in): BMI 26.0 — healthy weight range

If you're of South Asian, Chinese, Black African, or Black Caribbean background, the NHS recommends lower BMI thresholds, so your health context may differ. Calculate your exact BMI using the calculator on this page to get your personal result.

Understanding BMI Categories and Limitations

According to NHS guidelines, a healthy BMI sits between 18.5 and 24.9. At 94kg, you'll fall into an overweight or obese category depending on your height. However, BMI has important limitations — it doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat, so athletes may have a high BMI despite low body fat percentage. BMI also doesn't account for where fat is stored (waist circumference matters too) or variations between age groups. Your GP can provide personalised advice about what your BMI means for your individual health, especially if you have weight-related health conditions like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease. Use our free weight converter to check your weight in different units, and our progress tracker to monitor any changes over time.

Every calculator and guide on myweightcheck is built with accuracy and transparency in mind. Our BMI calculator uses the standard WHO formula with NHS-aligned category thresholds. Our GLP-1 projections are modelled on published clinical trial data from SURMOUNT and STEP studies.

All data stays on your device. We don't require sign-ups, and we don't store your health information on any server. Your progress tracker saves data locally in your browser using localStorage, so only you can see it.

We're based in the UK and our tools are designed specifically for UK users — supporting stone & lbs by default, referencing NHS guidelines, using NICE-approved medication data, and linking to GPhC-registered pharmacies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about BMI, weight loss medications, and our free UK tools.

What is 94kg in stone and pounds?

94kg converts to 14 stone and 12.5 pounds (or approximately 14st 12lbs). You can convert kilograms to stone by dividing by 6.35029. Our free weight converter makes this instant — just enter your weight and switch between units.

Is 94kg a healthy weight?

Whether 94kg is healthy depends on your height and other health factors. Your BMI may fall anywhere from overweight to severely obese depending on how tall you are. Use our BMI calculator above to find your personal BMI, then compare it to NHS categories. Your GP can advise on what's healthy for you.

What BMI would 94kg give if I'm 175cm tall?

At 94kg and 175cm (5ft 9in), your BMI would be approximately 30.6, which falls into the obese (Class I) category according to NHS guidelines. This suggests increased health risks, though individual circumstances vary. Speak to your GP for personalised guidance.

How much weight would I need to lose to reach a healthy BMI at my height?

This varies by your height. Use our BMI calculator to find the healthy weight range for your exact height, then our progress tracker to monitor changes. A typical safe rate is 0.5–1kg per week. Your GP or a weight management service can give you a personalised plan.

Does BMI account for muscle mass?

No — BMI doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat. If you're very muscular, you may have a high BMI but low body fat. Waist circumference and overall health markers matter too. Your GP can discuss whether your specific weight poses health risks.
