Mounjaro dose titration (gradual dose escalation) follows a strict UK protocol. Starting at 2.5mg once weekly, your prescriber will typically increase your dose every 4 weeks if tolerated, stepping up through 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg, and finally 15mg. Each dose step requires a new KwikPen — you cannot adjust the clicks mid-treatment to reach a lower dose than the pen is pre-set for. This fixed-dose approach ensures consistency and safety. Can I adjust my Mounjaro KwikPen clicks to get a lower dose?
No. Mounjaro KwikPens are pre-filled for one specific dose only. You cannot use clicks to adjust a 10mg pen down to 5mg, for example. If your prescriber wants to lower your dose, you will be prescribed a new KwikPen at the lower strength. Always follow your prescriber's dosing instructions.
What happens if I click past my target dose on the Mounjaro pen?
If you accidentally rotate the dose selector past your target, you cannot reverse the clicks — the pen advances in one direction only. However, this does not mean you will inject extra medication. Simply reset the dial to your correct dose if the pen permits, or contact your pharmacist for guidance. Never inject if you are unsure of the dose shown.
Is the Mounjaro KwikPen the same as the Ozempic or Wegovy pen?
